Why is the sealing of plastic storage boxes good

The good sealing of plastic storage boxes is mainly related to their material characteristics, structural design, and processing technology. The specific reasons are as follows:
1. The density of the material itself
The commonly used materials for plastic storage boxes, such as PP polypropylene, PE polyethylene, PET polyester, ABS, etc., have a tight molecular structure and good barrier properties, making them less breathable and permeable.
These plastic materials have a smooth surface and no natural pores, which can reduce the possibility of air, moisture, or dust penetrating through the material itself, ensuring the physical conditions of sealing from the foundation.
2. Correct sealing structure design
Sealing groove and convex edge matching: Most sealed storage boxes are designed with corresponding grooves (sealing grooves) and convex edges (sealing ribs) on the edges of the box body and lid. When closed, the convex edges are tightly embedded in the groove, forming a physical barrier that blocks the circulation of air and moisture in the gap.
Silicone sealing ring reinforcement: The sealed storage box will be embedded with a silicone sealing ring in the groove on the edge of the box cover. Silicone has excellent elasticity and temperature resistance. When closed, it will tightly adhere to the box body under the pressure of the box cover, filling small gaps and further enhancing the sealing effect (similar to the sealing principle of insulated cups).
Buckling method enhances sealing: By using structures such as buckles, clasps, and rotating locks, the box cover is tightly engaged with the box body, and continuous pressure is applied to ensure that the sealing structure (ribs, sealing rings) is always in a fitted state, avoiding sealing failure due to looseness.
3. Processing accuracy ensures sealing
Plastic storage boxes often use injection molding technology, with high mold accuracy, which can ensure that the edge dimensions of the box body and the lid, as well as the shape and position of the sealing groove/convex edge, are perfectly matched, reducing gaps caused by size errors.
During the injection molding process, the material is evenly filled and the surface is smooth, avoiding sealing leaks caused by uneven material thickness or deformation.
4. Stable sealing state with anti deformation ability
Excellent plastic materials, such as modified PP and ABS, have a certain degree of rigidity and toughness, and are not easily deformed under temperature changes or slight external forces. They can maintain the sealing structure fit between the box body and the box cover for a long time, avoiding sealing failure caused by deformation.
